Loisel is the little clerk in the Department of Education (1) to whom Mathildes family marries Mathilde off. Mme. Jeanne Forestier Mme. Jeanne Forestier is wealthy. Thats essentially all you need to know. Shes the rich friend: M. Georges Ramponneau M. Georges Ramponneau is the guy who throws the pleasing ball that just might be the best fewer hours of Mathildes life. Hes the Minister of Education, which makes him M. Loisels boss Plot 1. Mme. Loisel refused to attend the party because she has no dress to wear. 2. Mme. Loisel borrowed a diamond necklace from her friend Mme. Forestier. 3. Mme. Loisel was admired by everyone in the party. 4. She lost the necklace. 5. They decided to replace the necklace. 6. They worked hard to fix their debts. 7. Mme. Loisel found out that the necklace she borrowed was a paste.
