Personality of a Poem

PERSONALITY OF A POEM Pg 1 Personality of a Poem bar J. Jessie English 125: Introduction to Literature Andrea Moak 05/02/2011 PERSONALITY Pg 2 Personality of a Poem The poem in which I chose to write about is amaze Grace! How sweet the sound, by John Newton. Although this is a hymn, it has cracking depth into the meaning of this song and captures the audience by adding personalised experience with triumph. It celebrates the possibility of such inter connectivity between compassionate and divine realities. Hymns relate to universal human experiences and the sweeping prototype of emotions they produce.(Clugston, 2010, Journey into Literature, 9.3). Poetry, in my opinion, is one of the most important forms of literary works because with out it there would have never been the send-off song.

The crusade I chose this poem/hymn is because I was raised with my mystify singing this throughout the house while she cleaned, cooked, or frame up us to bed. This song meant so much to me as a child, then when I grew up and truly understood the meaning, It was til now that much more of a blessing to me. When I judge this song now, it makes me think of the wonderful memories of my mother, as well as how it relates to my life. Amazing grace saved a wretch care me, I was lost and blind but now I see. And all praise goes to the Lord. The metaphor in this poem is grace. The occasion mentions grace throughout the whole poem, as well as explains the many different things that grace has done for him. Twas grace that taught my shopping mall to fear, and grace my fears relived; How precious did that grace appear, The hour I first believed! and Tis grace that brought me safe thus far, and grace will elapse me home(Clugston, 2010, Journey into Literature, 9.3)...
