Purpose of constitution
The purpose of this base is to show what really is important in different prudence jobs. This paper states that management jobs can be similar provided then will differ across organization levels and functions. The paper then suggests using an analogy to team sports to help essay organizational performance.
According to Kraut (1989, 286), it is important for managers to work in a team with his/her colleagues and perform as a single unit. team up members must also have a clear apprehensiveness of their own roles and roles of their teammates. Team members must also realize that no matter of his/her position, must be ready and willing to take a fall for the team in order for the team to be successful.
Methodology
A quantitative research had been carried out from a example of 1,412 managers to rate the importance of 57 managerial tasks to their jobs. The ratings include Of intense importance, Of considerably importance, Of moderate importance, Of comminuted importance, Of no importance, I do non perform this task.
The managerial tasks are separateed into 7 categories:
-Managing individual performance
-Instructing subordinates
-Planning and allocating resources
-Coordinating interdependent groups
-Managing group performance
- supervise the business environment
-Representing ones staff
The 7 categories are then grouped into 4 contexts:
