Mohandas Gandhi was born October 2 in Porbandar, India. Influenced greatly by his devout mother, he grew up a develop child with a mature sense of duty and responsibility. Gandhi went to righteousness School and became a barrister, learning how to prove things, gather tell and ensure equality. The Rowlatt Act was a law passed in 1919, which allowed the government to incarcerate anyone suspected of terrorism for two years and the same year the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre occurred, where fifty British Indian Army soldiers unjustly gunned down a group of gratis(p) Indians in the city of Amritsar. Gandhi was greatly shocked and resented helping the British government and made the essential switch to nonviolent passive voice resistance. In September 1920, Gandhi persuaded Congress to start a nonviolent Noncooperation Movement on several issues; the achievement of Swaraj (Indian self-rule) and the rectification of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and marital laws in South Africa, which would only allow Christian marriages.
